How CGI and ShootDigital Will One Day Save Your Day …

At first we all sat around staring at Curtis going “what do you do?” Then when he didn’t respond we realized he created an image out of himself on the computer and we were talking to his doppelganger. Not really, but it could have happened…

What is Computer-generated imagery, or CGI? Well according to Wikipedia it “is the application of the field of computer graphics or, more specifically, 3D computer graphics to special effects in films, television programs, commercials, simulators and simulation generally, and printed media.” Most recently it has been used in photography at ShootDigital to further enhance the quality of a photographers image but also has many other beneficial uses. We like to say, “If you can imagine it we can produce it.”

How so? Say for example you are trying to demonstrate a perfume being sprayed on a model but can’t get the spray to look right no matter how many takes you’ve done. Now your model is covered in perfume and you have no shot. Have no fear! Curtis is here and he’ll fix that shot no problem with CGI. Not only will he make the spray look amazing but your model, client and photographer will go home happy.

401 Exposed!

2 things you may not know about Shootdigital.

1. When you cross the threshold from the cafe to the equipment room, the physical address of the building changes from 23 East 4th to 401 Lafayette. We technically take up two address’ only because we are awesome.

2. The “Shootdigital” restroom is at 401 Lafayette and it’s pretty cool because it has become, in a sense, a yearbook for us since 1994.

OK, we have a bit of a mystery happening back here in the 401 bathroom.  Over the past few weeks, jugney has found the trash can full of a liquid which looks to be urine.  He has found it 3 times so far, Friday night, being the most recent until THIS AFTERNOON!

So, did anyone empty a drink into the trash can in the 401 bathroom today?  or, and i can’t even believe i’m  going to ask this but, did anyone happen to go potty in the trash can?  Please let us know if you have any information that could lead to us solving this very strange incident.  It’s ok if this is some type of fetish that you may have, you can email me directly and I promise to keep your secret – I just really want to know what is going on.  If it is the case, maybe we could even get you your own little trash can to pee in when ever you feel like!  Wouldn’t that be nice…
